We are MOVING!!! Yes, after 20+ years, we are moving from Squirrel Hill to Where??
We don't know.
We thought we were moving to Homestead, but after a year, the building still isn't ready.

But we need to move. Our building was sold, and the new landlord has already shown himself to be a not-nice guy. He never told us he was buying the building -- the old landlord notified us AFTER the sale, so we had no time to prepare for a move. Not very nice. And it's not like I don't see the new landlord almost every day, as he's the other occupant of the building. Not very nice. At all. But we are moving, and that's the end result.

For more information on our MOVING SALE you should join our **Meetup Group** and you will be able to see our calendars, get our sales information, etc. We tried to set up a facebook page, but have no idea how to use facebook. I don't like facebook, and the business pages seem to be an absolute after thought. So, *please* use our **Meetup Group** to keep updated. I will try to post some photos of stuff on our moving page, but it's also easier to keep the Meetup Group updated like that too!

Our brick and mortar business, PUGDOG's Rock & Bead Shop,
better known to many as The Rock Shop in Squirrel Hill.
was closed for a year,, pending relocation, but has recently been
reopened with VERY limited hours, and for WHOLESALE ONLY.

What that means, is we are not a make-it and take-it shop any more, and we are liquidating the retail items (mostly loose beads, lower end beads like pony beads, and such). We will continue to supply full-strands, wholesale packages, individual centerpiece beads, and all the findings and extras people need for a serious hobby, or for their main or side line business.

You do NOT need a tax-id to shop with us! (You will just have to pay sales tax.) The "wholesale" aspect is in how and what we supply (full strands, larger packages, etc), not a specific quantity of any one item. We are "wholesale to everyone," offering great discounts over standard retail bead shops, and the largest selection in the region.

We'll be getting some photos up, so you can see the incredible scope of our inventory, the largest variety in the region.

Our BetterBeads.com site is being redeveloped, and will highlight what we offer -- BETTER BEADS -- at better prices, and better service for wholesale customers. We can help with your cash flow, keep items you use in stock, and seek out the best deals on items you like to incorporate in to your creations.

  • We have a HUGE selection of lower-end, "promo" or "commercial" grade beads in chips, rounds, and some shapes. These are EXTREMELY discounted strands, with minor defects on some beads (though some of the strands and materials we can't find anything wrong, and they are almost "A" grade!). These are great for all your spacer/filler needs, as well as for making the impulse jewelry you need for shows.
  • We have a nice selection of crackle glass, again it's for the "bling" for lower end creations, but it is quite pretty, sparkly, and VERY inexpensive! 30" strands can be as low as $2-3.
  • We have a selection of AWESOME BLUE LACE!! In a variety of cuts, styles, and focals, from polished mini-slabs, to druze-covered nuggets, and carved flowers. It's one of the few naturally blue stones, and this is close to the "old" stuff that used to be found. Some of the color is close to the Turkish blue agates!
  • We have the best prices in the area for precious metal rounds, spacers, head pins, crimps and a variety of clasps, and we can get anything from the Fire Mountain Gems catalog at a DISCOUNT regardless of the quantity you need, and without the shipping charge.
  • We stock a range of Swarovski colors, shapes and sizes, including squares, dice, rounds and flowers.
  • We are a WHOLESALE source and we'd like to be YOUR wholesale source, and we know in these tough times we CAN save you money, increase your selection and variety, and help your cash flow by minimizing your outlays and cash tied up in static inventory. If you run a bead or jewelry business, or have need for metaphysical or similar items, you owe it to yourself -- and your bottom line -- to visit us and see what we can do for you.
